PHILANTHROPY COMMITTEE

Our Philanthropy Committee plans and organizes a variety of fundraising efforts for the chosen philanthropy of that academic year. Some efforts include selling stickers, coordinating profit shares, and hosting field day events. Last academic year, we raised over $4,000 for our Operation Underground Railroad Central Texas. This committee is made up of a committee chair and 5 committee members. Our goal this year is to raise $3,000 for The Settlement Home for Children, supporting children who have suffered from emotional trauma, abuse, and neglect.

Recruitment and DEI Committee

Our Recruitment and DEI Committee will focus on reaching out to prospective members and hosting a variety of events, such as tabling, socials, and meet-the-officers events. After the recruitment period ends, this committee then works on partnering with other organizations on campus to foster community building as well as efforts for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Examples of DEI efforts will include things like working to have professionals from minority groups coming to speak to our members about their unique career journeys, presentations (OC or outside of OC) addressing DEI topics, and volunteering for marginalized communities in order to develop members as culturally sensitive and inclusive people.
