Recruitment

To apply for membership, you must:

• Attend at least 1 informational session AND 1 recruitment activity
• Submit a written membership application

Applications are screened in a blind process, and advancing applicants will be invited to a group interview. After the interview, you will be alerted of your membership status in APS!

Points/Dues

All members are expected to meet point requirements and pay dues depending on your membership status. The points/dues requirements are as follows:

Pledge Status
Qualifications:

• Automatic status for all new members of any year for their first semester, OR ​
• Status if you did not meet point requirements last semester

Points/Dues Requirements:

• Attend 4/6 general meetings
• Volunteer for 16 hours total ​
• Volunteer for 8 minimum internal volunteer hours ​with APS
• Attend 5 social opportunities
• Earn 2 philanthropy points
• Obtain 2 DEI points

​Dues:

• $140 for the year, $80 per semester

Active: Underclassmen Status
Qualifications:

• Are a 1st or 2nd year at UT, AND
• Met point requirements from previous semester

Points/Dues Requirements:

• Attend 4/6 general meetings
• Volunteer for 12 hours total
• Volunteer for 4 minimum internal volunteer hours with APS
• Attend 4 social opportunities
• Earn 1 philanthropy point
• Obtain 2 DEI points

​Dues:

• $120 for the year, $70 per semester

Active: Upperclassmen Status
Qualifications:

• Are a 3rd+ year at UT and not a new member, AND
• Met point requirements from previous semester

Points/Dues Requirements:

• Attend 4/6 general meetings
• Attend 4 social opportunities
• Earn 1 philanthropy point​
• Obtain 2 DEI points
• No volunteer requirement

​Dues:

• $90 for the year, $55 per semester

To earn an APS graduation cord:

• For Spring Graduation: meet point requirements for both fall and spring semesters of the year you graduate
• For Fall Graduation: meet point requirements for the fall semester that you graduate
