Alpha Phi Sigma is the largest and most active pre-med honor society at UT. APS was voted the 'best professional organization' at UT for the years 1998-1999 and 1999-2000. The purpose of alpha phi sigma is to be a resource for University of Texas students by providing information about the medical field, community contacts, mentorship for new students, and volunteer/internship opportunities as preparation for students desiring a future in medicine. APS offers more than just a gathering place for the premedical students at UT. We offer, among many things: information about medical schools and the MCAT, health volunteer opportunities, guest speakers, parties, mixers, socials and of course, free pizza at every meeting.
